Feeling v nostalgic for my childhood favourite especially having her suitcase of shoes and clothes still - I rightly or wrongly suspect she went 'missing' after my mum discovered one of my daughters
    cut her hair

I just got my first Sasha doll last week and,I am excited to have her I will be 59 in November and ,have wanted one of these for manny years.
Now I can't wait to get started making her a new wardrobe.
She has been bathed, restrung. That was a tough job.Now her original clothes need to be sent to the dry cleaners.
Now I can't wait to get a second doll.
Nice to see that there are so many people intrested in the Sasha dolls.

Shelly is as honest and helpful as the day is long and I have been doing business with her for some 14 years now and still dont know anyone better in the subject of Sashas and also really cant say a
bad thing about her nor have had a single complaint. I would always highly recommend her and now have the honour of having her as a good friend! What can be better? Shop with this lady and you wont
    go wrong.

  • Kendal Hackney (Tuesday, November 06 12 11:20 am GMT)

I'm thinking it's right to say that I was Shelly's very FIRST customer on April 6th, 2001, the day before my 60th birthday when I spotted a 1969 Frido Dungaree girl in her full original outfit for
sale on her newly opened Sashadolluk website.
I immediately emailed her asking if it was at all possible if I could buy that doll as 'a me to me' birthday gift and for her to arrive here the next day. The doll did indeed arrive on the 7th and
from then on I have never looked back.

Since then literally hundreds of dolls from Sashadolluk have joined 'The Brood' and probably a similar number have found new homes later on through her 'hands.'
My very full and varied Sasha collection today (which includes a few lovely early examples to some real waifs and customised dolls from both the Frido/Trendon and Gotz companies manufactured mainly
during the years 1965-1971) is all due to Shelly and her now worlwide famous website.

For me Shelly ranks as THE BEST Sasha seller ever and any questions, queries or advice that I had or might have is answered asap. and to the best of her abilty. (The only thing that she seems unable
to help me with is the necessary purchasing cash!)

My sincerest and most grateful thanks go to her for helping me to collect my current Sasha Brood which give me, and hopefully others via my blogspot, such daily pleasure.
Sasha love as always from Kendal.xx

I hope you still are maintaining this site. My father loved to give dolls to my mother. Before her death, my mother gave the dolls to my wife. One of them is a Sasha's Baby doll, still in its
original box (it has never been out), and dressed in its original white sundress. SK56DU is stamped on the box along with the Trendon name and location. Please tell me what you can about the doll.

Just curious if we are going to get to see you at the Festival this summer. Sheila Foery and I will be traveling before and after the festival and we were wondering if it would be possible to visit
you when we were in London? (We are flying in an out from there.) I hope you are going to the festival and that you'll have some of your lovely things to sell. I'm trying to save my pennies, and
    nickels, and dimes... Hugs, Heidi

Hi, Just wanted to say how delightful to find someone who loves Sasha dolls. I covetted them as a child but living in rural Scotland never had access to one. Had to wait until I had my own daughter
in 1981 and bought her the Sasha gingham in 1982 in Jenners! Still have her and dread the day rachel wants to take her away. They are so beautiful though aren't they. Kindest regards.

my sasha doll has had a hair cut in the past is there anywhere that can replace the hair?

  • Dori Barton (Monday, January 23 12 03:56 pm GMT)

I have just been looking at the four Sasha dolls which I have had carefully stored for many years. I originally bought them circa 1970 for my two young daughters and at the time it seemed that I
loved the dolls more than my daughters did and they became ornaments rather than playthings. For no real reason I thought that I would see whether there was any information on the internet about
these dolls and, of course, I was pleasantly surprised at the wealth of websites available with information which I found very interesting. Having looked at your website I thought that perhaps you
could provide me with some background to the dolls which I have and maybe give me a valuation of them.
I have two Sasha dolls both wearing gingham dresses, gingham knickers and white vests and both wearing single strap shoes (one also has socks). One of the dolls is blonde with blue eyes and the other
brunette with brown eyes. Everything is original, they are both unmarked (face, body and limbs) and they haver NOT been re-strung.
The other two are Sasha baby dolls - one a boy and the other a girl. The boy has fair hair and the girl dark hair and they both have brown eyes. The girl is wearing a long white dress and underwear
and the boy a check top, fitted red trousers and baby boots. Again these are both unmarked in any way and have not been re-strung.
I also have a number of other miscellaneous clothes.
Are you able to provide me with some sort of valuation or do you require any other details?
Thank you in anticipation of your response.
    Dori

Just thought I'd drop you a line regarding your website. I'm an avid crafter, and find the designs you have made for all your Sasha Dolls absolutely fantastic. I own a Sasha and Gregor Doll bought
for me by my then boyfriend in the 1970s. We just celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary, and at the age of 53 still find dolls a complete fascination! My husband adds regularly to my collection of
Tammy dolls. I used to own one in the 1960s. She is no longer with me, but what a delight she brought me as a child. You have a fantastic website, so well done!!

  • Shiko (Friday, December 17 10 10:21 am GMT)

I found your website by chance. It bought me back nice memories of my 19770s. I bought a pair of Sasha dolls at a store in Tokyo when I was a teenager. They looked so uniquely attractive to me at
that time. I still have them with me. I would like to come back to your site and get new outfit for them so that they can have new outfit after long long years.

Hi, I wanted to ask for some info about my sasha doll please.I have a doll that I received for my 5th? birthday in about 1970. My father says he bought it from the Galt toy shop in Carnaby Street.
She has long blonde hair - no fringe and used to have a brown corduroy dress( until my hubbie threw it away :( ).
I have known it was collectable for a few years, but it was only when I saw one go for £1270 on ebay recently that I realised how valuable! I would value some more info about my doll, whether it is
worth me buying one of your brown cord outfits for sale and what to do with her really!
    Many thanks,
    Louise

hello, just found you web site again, I think I found you before but couldn't stay to view as had to be elsewhere!

I have been a sasha fan for a long time (I fell in love with sasha dolls as soon as I saw them) but didn't know where I could buy one. Also didn't realise they were made for a number of years at a
town (Stockport) near where I live. I would probably have tried to get a job there if I'd known!! I have managed to buy a couple from ebay but don't know what quality they are or really anything
about them. I think I have 2 girls, 1 gregor and 1 baby. I probably paid top price for them. They are not the quality of your top priced ones, I can tell that but they don't seem too bad, probably
need re-stringing and some new clothes. I have bought some Sasha sewing patterns for clothes and Sasha knitting patterns so I will be kept out of mischief this winter! Hope this email is ok and
doesn't sound too crazy. I am 72 years of age and have always loved dolls, unfortunately my daughter never was and thinks I'm mad!

best wishes and kind regards Karen

Barbies from 1959 to 1966 were my first love but I discovered Sasha in about 1977 and grabbed about every doll I could back then. I have about 12 dolls now. I need someone to restring one of my
Blonde Ginghams. When I went to pick her up out of my box one day, her head just fell off. How sad! I want her back in one piece. Thanks for any information on reliable and talented Sasha restring
    artists.

Congratulations on your very nice and interesting website.
I am from France and started collecting Sasha dolls about a year ago. They are lovely dolls. I have been into contact with other Sasha doll enthusiasts from different parts of the world and all are
very friendly and love sharing their love for Sashas. It is so nice to share a same interest with other people. Besides the people who design clothing and outfits for Sashas do it with great
dedication, good taste choosing the best material. Congratulations to them all.
    Carry on the good work.

big bag.she`d been up the attic at my parents`house herself!contained in the bag were sasha blonde, gregor, cora, baby sandy, another baby brown, and SKIPPY WEE!to my joy!with most of their original
clothes!it was an emotional re-union.since then i have cleaned and brushed them, bought original saha clothes for them, and braided cora`s hair to her waist.and i bought some fine knitting needles and
baby wool and made an exact replica of `woolly`for the beloved one and bought an original nappy for him.my days now are filled with the endless joy of playing with them.thank you so much for the
inspiration of your site xx i now have 7!xx

I am interested in selling my mother's Sasha collection and I am having difficulty in determining prices for the dolls. ie there is a sasha girl #107 mint in box. blue gingham dress. I see many in

There are 25 dolls altogether in their boxes as well as 11 outfits all in their boxes.

I would greatly appreciate your help.

    Thank you

  • elizabeth hounslow (Tuesday, May 05 09 01:40 am BST)

hi there,i was really touched to read your story about your sasha baby.when i was a child,i had a baby brown amongst other sashas, who was my fave,i took him on outings and pushed him in a pram, made
clothes for him,had parties for him and even made him candy canes out of fimo.i also thought he was like a little monkey.then, when i was 12 my folks said i was too old and bagged them all up and put
them in the attic.since going online,my passion for sashas has been rekindled and i`ve nagged and harrassed dad to get them out,to no avail as he puts it off and puts it off.out of fear they may had
gone on the bonfire,i have just purchased another baby brown the same colouring on ebay, and am excited for the postman delivering him.he will never replace my little skippy wee,as i called him,but i
plan to knit him a replica of "woolly"and give him a well loved life, and he will kick-start my new sasha collection.who knows,my dad might get my old ones and may not have put them on the
    bonfire!lol.x

paler in colour. She is wearing a cream jumper, cord skirt and belt. Her leg stringing is brown and very loose - does her larger size and colour make her a newer version? Thanks for your expertise

I thought that you may like to hear from someone who was involved in the early manufacture of Sasha dols in the UK. I worked at the Reddish factory of Frido from 1964 until 1967 as a development
engineer on the moulds and assembly methods for the dolls. I met Sasha Morgenthaler on her visits to the factory. She was very particular about quality control and hundreds of heads, legs and bodies
were thrown away. My daughter has 2 original no philtrum Sashas.

  • Michele Futrell (Saturday, October 18 08 09:35 pm BST)

Enjoyed your site very much, noticed on your site the word 'philtrum' did not know about this difference before, will now have to check all my Sasha's, thanks

What a great site! I have learned so much from it.

  • Melanie Clark (Tuesday, October 07 08 04:39 am BST)

I am 46 years old born and raised in NYC, my aunt gave me a Sasha doll when I six or seven years old. Sasha instantly became my favorite. I don't remember what happened to her but I wish we had saved
her. Where can I purchase her? The Sasha I had was brunette with brown eyes and pink lips and I think she had a cord dress.

I enjoyed this site and love your dolls. To me, the Sashas are my favortite dolls.
I bought two for my daughters but never for myself. At sixty, I think I should get one for myself and am interested in a platinum blonde early one.
My friend says there are two kinds--which ones do you have. They are darling. I would love to get a little girl like you show in the gingham dress with humpty dumpty.
I would like to know what L450 is in American money. I think I'd like to order one but know nothing about the cost.

Oh my goodness! I didn't realize that there was a website dedicated to Sasha dolls. I lived in Blackheath, London in 1975 while my dad was attending the Naval College in Greenwich. There was a lovely
toy store in the village where I bought my blond haired, baby Sasha doll. I called him Gregor, after the older dolls in the collection. I still have him today. I am 46 years of age and I bought him
with babysitting money in 1975. I have a number of outfits and accessories. I still love him so today! p.s. I am Canadian.

Lovely seeing all the various Sashas. I had blonde Sasha first, then came dark Gregor and finally boy (blonde)baby - in the early to mid 1970's. I had quite a few of the outfits for Sacha and
recognise the pyjamas/towelling dressing gown/slippers for Gregor - I always thought it looked really cool! I still have them all (and clothes) carefully wrapped and boxed away. Thank you for your
enthusiasm and your site. PS Sasha, with her lovely hair, will always be my favourite as I had her first.

This is the lovliest sasaha website I have ever seen, the dolls you feature are wonderful. I am 44 years old and still in total love with all my sashas. My Mother bought me my first one in (we think)
1967 - blonde sasha and when I was older I collected 9 in total. I have the black sashas, girl Cora, boy Caleb and baby Gemma (are they quite rare - I think they must be as I've not seen many
    featured on websites?).
I have lots of clothes which are rather worn now, some perished i.e. the London brown faux leather boys and girls outfits.
I would like to say well done for your lovely website.
    Best regards,
    Laura

Your web site is wonderful! I have a beautiful brunette Sasha that was given to me by my mother about 20 years ago (as a replacement for my first that was stolen from the little pusher I had taken
her out in when I was about 6). This Sasha has broken some kind of bead inside her so that all her limbs are hanging loose. Could you please tell me where she could be fixed... I am in Australia
though so perhaps this is not possible?

    Thank you so much

  • Vicky Dennis (Thursday, March 29 07 09:37 pm BST)

    Hello there,

I found your site today. I wonder if you can answer a question I have regarding my own sasha doll. She was given to me as xmas gift approximately 25 years ago. She is a baby sasha and she was bought
brand new from Rachams in Birmingham. I regularly look on the internet at the sasha dolls and i have never seen one simular to mine. She has a little brown gingum dress which is original and a basket
cradle, sadly I don't have the tag or the packaging anymore. Do you know if she is rare? I did play with as a child but have taken great care of her. I also have some other original sasha clothes
which i bought to go with her at the time with some christmas money I was also given. I love her very much and wouldn't sell her I picked her from the toy department as I thought no one would love
her like I would. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you, Vicky Dennis

What a wonderful web site , a delight to read , and bring backs memories . My first sasha doll was , sasha Brunette ,red dress. I was 8 yeras old , 1973. I can remember the trip on the bus to buy her
in London. I had saved up my post office stamps and had cashed them out . The doll cost me , if I can remeber correctly about 7 pounds. I called her Georgina, and I played with her for many years .
she was my special doll. Later My parents brought me Baby brunette Gregor in Carnaby Street , London . I can still see myself in the shop , not sure which one to have . He was about 5 pounds or so .
So much money in those days . Again many hours of pleasure . I always wanted to get a Boy Sasha, Im 42 years old , and one day I will . I live in California, and my Dolls are in London , sitting on a
chair in my Mums room . I will call her and ask her to brush their hair . Its is only in this last week that I had remembered them , then I found your web site. Thankyou ,How Much Did sasha Dolls
    cost in 1972-73.?

Love your site. I'm always cruising the net to see what's going on with the value and interest in (my) Sasha dolls...not that I would ever sell them! My mother told me when she gave me my first one
that Sasha was already famous and was going to become even more so (this was in the early 70's). Maybe your website will inspire me to bring them out of storage and put them out (in protective glass
of course! now that I know that the eyes can turn green.) Thanks for all the helpfull info.

I collected dolls for about 10 years when I was younger and was drawn to these dolls, Sasha, because of their sturdy quality, facial expressions, and hands. I have 3 but am unsure when they were
made. None have any marks. They are all in the basement so I will have to bring them out and check the other details that you mentioned to try and establish their age. Thanks for the tips.
